How to position it correctly

Choose a stable surface.
Avoid inclined or soft surfaces, or having other objects nearby.
Center the baby’s head.
The back of the head should rest gently on the central area, without forcing the neck.
Supervise and alternate.
Observe the baby, change activities, and also encourage free movement and tummy time when the baby is awake and ready.

Positional plagiocephaly is an asymmetrical flattening that can appear when a baby’s head receives repeated pressure on the same area. A constant preference for looking to one side or limited neck mobility may contribute and should be assessed.
